Did Ramona Kill Ramgen Bautista Revilla? The Revilla Murder Drama Continues
This is such a strange tale - the Revilla murder drama rages on. After being killed, Ramgen Bautista Revilla's sister who was considered a suspect - leaves the country for Hongkong
Apparently Ramgen was shot in his room while he was there with his girlfriend. Both were shot, the girlfriend - Janelle Manahan is still alive but wounded, however the younger Revilla died
Both his sister & brother were seen leaving the crime scene and both were suspected of involvement in the crime. The sister - Ramona who reportedly left the country just days after her brother had died apparently told the authorities some other fairy tale instead of the truth so now she has provided contradicting stories even making her look more suspicious. This is more than a celebrity murder - this is a celebrity scandal! What can you expect from Pinoy showbiz? It's not only the typical homicide now but a sensationalized one at that
Hear What Philippine President Noynoy Aquino Had To Say on Youtube Interview International Live Streaming
The President of the Philippines - Benigno Aquino III on Youtube World View. This is a good thing to do. Might as well go public with his plans - promotes transparency of leadership. I've heard him labeled as not the sharpest knife in the presidential drawer, but you've got to give him points for trying.
Was Charice's Father Killed With An Ice Pick Or Screw Driver?
Recent new regarding Pinoy showbiz centers on the murder of Charice's father - Ricky Pempengco. If you don't know who she is, Charice is the international singing sensation born and raised in the Philippines - later discovered by Ellen Degeneres and managed by Oprah, she now stars in concerts alongside the famous David Foster and appears in television series like Glee.
According to semi-conflicting reports, her father was murdered in self defense according to the man who surrendered last Monday - the man's name was Angel Capili Jr., still a little confusing as I read 2 reports - one say he was killed via ice pick stabs to the neck and back which the suspect admitted to carrying around for self defense (this was from Philippine Star). While another source (via News Flash) relays that he stabbed the father of Charice with a screw driver he used for work.
That is quite suspicious don't you think? Anyway the Philippine Star reported that he was already charged after admitting to the murder. Somebody got paid a handsome reward for it too. Makes it a lot more suspicious if you ask me

Krispy Kreme Opens in Cebu Oct-22; 1st Customer Free 1-Yr Supply of Doughnuts!
Krispy Kreme opens in Cebu on Oct-22 in Ayala Center Cebu and in Asiatown IT Park. People are so excited and even more so now that there's a contest going for the 1st customer getting 1-year supply of FREE doughnuts! That is just amazing!
Krispy Kreme is entering Cebu with a bang, just as any new brand should. Apparently the first 100 customers will also get other prizes.
We have a bet going that Krispy Kreme will last longer than Gonut Donuts (which didn't last long by the way). I think they have a pretty good chance

The Philippines' Own SuperMan - Goes Through Extensive Surgery To Look Like Man Of Steel
Should we call this the ultimate cosplay? Herbert Chavez, 35-year-old Filipino designer has decided he literally wanted to grow up and be superman.
He went to the extent of extensive cosmetic surgery just to look like Superman. With so many procedures, check out the before and after pictures. Everything from his nose, lips, cheeks, chin and even skin whitening (Hello, Michael Jackson?)
Once a typical-looking Filipino, Chavez now has the firm-jawed face of Clark Kent.
A curl of black hair falls on his forehead, and he occasionally sports the thick, black glasses of his idol's nerdier incarnation, mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent.
He is planning an operation that will give him a more muscular abdomen and is looking at specialised surgery in Japan that will insert metal in his legs to make him taller.
This is next-level idolizing. We can call him our very own local celebrity, our own Superman

What Really Happened In SM Pampanga Shooting Incident + Updates
Remember the shooting incident just a few weeks ago in SM Pampanga? It was all over the news, right at the heels of another shooting incident in another SM shopping mall where again there were rumors of infidelity and love triangle motivations.
Two minors named Jake Perez and Jonathan Salvador died just last Sept-22. The 13-year-old boy first shot his alleged lover, a 16-year-old boy, in the head. The boy, who used a caliber .22 pistol, then shot himself in the head. The victims were first rushed to the Jose B. Lingad Hospital. The younger boy was transferred to San Fernandino Hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU), while the other was sent to V.L. Makabali Hospital for a CT scan, and was brought back to Jose B. Lingad Hospital.
This video leaked a few days ago, showing that one of the boys was in fact alive when the police alive - note the movement of his leg. The police was intensely criticized for appearing nonchalant the whole time in this video. Although apparently the police were the ones who took the boys to the hospital. Even if both boys were not able to live through the incident.
ABS-CBN recently reported that the Pampanga Philippine National Police (PNP) already considers the SM shooting incident involving two minors a closed case despite possibilities raised by one of the victims' family.
The family claimed that a third party may be involved in the killing, as gleaned from an amateur video of the incident that made the rounds in the Internet last week. Pampanga PNP spokesperson Superintendent Jhoanna Rosales told ANC that all evidence gathered by police pointed to the 13-year-old victim as the one who shot his friend and ultimately, himself.

Mayweather vs. Ortiz: What Really Happened?
What really happened during the Mayweather vs. Ortiz fight? Were we ripped off by a staged fight? Or was it just a pure example of dirty fighting by Floyd Mayweather Jr.?
Whatever this showing was intended to be, it was poor form on both boxers.
More than anything else, boxing after all is a spectator sport. They have to make the match fun and not be so obvious about whatever really happens behind the scenes.
Unfortunately this was not avoided and this ended up one of the most controversial fights of the decade. I'm glad Mayweather's opponent wasn't Pacquiao. No wonder Mayweather seemed scared of Pacquiao. For sure Manny Pacquiao wouldn't go down without a "real" fight.
I tried to look for the video of the knockout but it's no longer available on Youtube.com, you may view it here though for results, replays, and reactions.

Best in Cebu: Best Party Places
What are Cebu's best party places? Well first we have to identify if the party's for a child or a child at heart. For a child it's a lot easier with all the fastfood places these days offering party options
Best places for having a party in Cebu
- The usual fastfood joints - Jollibee and McDonalds have packaged parties for children and of course the usual themes, there are the princesses and the Ben 10 characters + typical mascot appearances. These I think now start at 7K for 30 children.
- Less hassle as you'll have a lot of the party paraphernalia handled by the crew in the restaurant but you have to admin you won't have much of a choice to what they will be
- They'll also host the party which is always a good thing given there will be approximately 30 kids in the room. Not being the one organizing that event would help you maintain composure throughout the party
- Why not have a beach party? After all we are in an island in the Pacific. A beach party can range from a cheap get together in a relatively open beach like Portofino or Hadsan (if it's still open) or having it fully customized for your needs like in one of them posh resorts like Maribago Bluewaters or Shangrila. There are also some mid-range resorts that you can take advantage of along Mactan
- Restaurants in the city. Plenty regular restaurants in the city offer great prices if you book a function room. They will usually charge on a per head basis or per order. But you can leverage the food order vs. the space you want to take. I've tried the following locations as party places
- TamGu Grill Cebu - this is in Paseo Arcenas Banawa. They have this 2nd floor that's good for about 30 people, so quite intimate but it's private and they will let you book it for as low as 5K which I think is very affordable
- Big Mao which used to be in Crossroads - but is now in Terraces Ayala Center, also had this huge place where I even had a puppet show location for my daughter's friends. I think they also have a function room in Ayala
- There's Mr. A up in Busay which is far but has a great view. Food isn't so bad either
- There's Penthouse and Loft or Vudu for the party people type who prefer drinking and dancing - not for children though
- The more classy places include Anzani and Belini just going up to Marco Polo Hotel. Hotels will also be an option at this point for those who would like a more formal setting. Other great hotels are Marriott, Radisson Blu, Shangrila of course

Best in Cebu: Best Supermarket
I'm going on a "Best in Cebu" to highlight what are the top restaurants, locations, birthday/ party places, gadgets and the like to help the average metro professional around the compact city of Cebu. This is of course based only on my personal opinion with some parameters for objectivity but nevertheless it boils down to my personal biases and needs. If you agree or disagree, please feel free to air out your thoughts. I'm always open to new albeit contrasting ideas
Let's start with Best Supermarket or grocery store. A couple come to mind immediately
- Metro Gaisano/ Metro Ayala - this is one of my favorite places because
- Location: It's right in the middle of everything. Uptown Cebu
- Prices: Relatively affordable - some of the items are very competitively priced
- Foodarama - I've asked many a homemaker and many swear by this place as the most affordable in this side of the city.
- There's hardly a lot of people there too so you have time to go around and not waste time
- Product variety: You may miss some items, but of what is there - they are one of the best prices you'll find
- Shoemart or Save More - SM does not fail when it comes to product variety they have almost everything. I say almost because you will not find Colgate there. I'm not sure why but I've heard rumors. Anyway fact is, you will not be able to buy it there, among other things - but very few. By comparison to other places, you'd have the highest possibility of finding what you need in SM
- And you don't just need to go to SM City Cebu now to get SM needs - there's Save more in Park Mall, Mactan - there's even the new SM Hypermart
- Ambience: Very crowded particularly during weekends and sale periods.
- Traffic: Can be very painful if you get caught during again - weekends & when there's a sale
- Also received negative publicity from a recent shooting in one of their Luzon malls - that must have been quite a scare
- Robinsons is actually not a bad option except for the negative publicity they got recently when an armor car got robbed
- But there are other Robinsons options now too - Robinsons Cybergate doesn't really have a supermarket but it's a great place to eat particularly if you have a patient/ doctor to visit in Chong Hua Hospital
- There's also Robinsons in BTC or Banilad Town Center - very quiet there. Product variety not as extensive but they've covered the basics. When in a hurry and just have a few items to pick up this is usually a good place as it isn't too crowded
- La Nueva and Unitop are also very affordable options. However is located in downtown Cebu City where parking is horrible and traffic is worse. I often find myself having difficulty navigating the labyrinth of roads there just to get back to Uptown

Ms. Universe 2011 Results: Bb. Pilipinas Shamcey Supsup Makes It to Top 3
Our very own Shamcey Supsup made it to the top 3 of Ms. Universe 2011. That's just amazing. Of course I was hoping she'd actually win, given her family name has a sordid meaning in the local dialect it would be nice if she was able to make up for it with a Ms. Universe title under her belt.
Winning 2011 Ms. Universe is Ms. Angola Leila Lopes who looks stunning in her bikini. No wonder she won. China's Luo Zilin came in fourth, Philippines' Shamcey Supsup was third, Brazil's Priscila Machado second and Ukraine's Olesia Stefanko was picked first runners up.
Our very own Shamcey Supsup in her choice evening gown during the 2011 Miss Universe Presentation Show on September 8 at the Credicard Hall in Sao Paulo, Brazil was born in General Santos City - where Pacquiao resides as well.
According to many articles, she led in the online polls - which makes sense, there must have been millions in the Philippines voting for her. She also has a good head over her shoulders, graduating from the University of the Philippines-Diliman as magna cum laude with a degree in architecture. Not to mention, she also topped the Architecture Licensure Examination in July last year.

Derek Ramsey Was Married!
According to PEP, Derek gave short statements about his previous marriage to a former Filipino-Indian girlfriend. That is such a surprise for me since he's such a hottie. Who would have believed that? Anyway he's still yummy so I don't really care so much
Here's his statement as picked up from PEP:
"It's over and done with. Actually, we can't speak about it but it's over," he said in an interview at the press conference of his newest auto loan endorsement with East West Bank.
The presscon was held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.
He added that it never affected his relationship with current girlfriend, actress Angelica Panganiban.
"It was never a problem," he told PEP.
"It's just something that they brought up.
"Like I said, it was something that was nine years ago that I have to deal with and it's been dealt with."
The relationship of Derek and Angelica already faced a number of controversies in the past years. However, the celebrity couple still managed to keep their romance going.
For Derek, keeping a relationship is "a lot of hard work."
He added, "The love is there, of course. But, I think, our secret is to let each other grow."
Ah that's sweet, Angelica is one lucky girl. Though I still hear he sleeps around, the level of public affection is just huge.

Tsunami Warning for Philippine Provinces
Time to be aware people. If you don't already know there was an 8.9 magnitude earthquake in Japan, you should at least be aware that the same tsunami that rocked the place might end up here in the Philippines. Tsunami warning is up so please notify friends and loved ones in nearby provinces. We're lucky here in Cebu, we're quite protected being in the middle of different islands, but hope you will have compassion on others. Here's the announcement from Sunstar
Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) Director Renato Solidum raised tsunami alert level 2 on all provinces facing the Pacific Ocean just over an hour after the earthquake in Japan and shortly after the tsunami that followed.
These provinces include Batanes, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Isabela, Quezon, Aurora, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Davao Oriental, and Davao del Sur.
With this, presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda announced the immediate evacuation of people living in Batanes and Ilocos Norte, which are expected to be first hit by the tsunami.
The Philippine Coast Guard said vessels cruising areas near the Pacific Ocean are no longer allowed to leave. They were advised to seek shelter.
People are also advised to stay away from the shoreline during this period. Those who houses are very near coastal areas facing the Pacific Ocean are strongly advised to go farther inland, said the Phivolcs.
Aside from the Philippines, other areas in the world that were placed under a lower tsunami watch were the Marshall Islands, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Nauru, Guam, Micronesia and Hawaii.

Pag-Ibig Incentive for OFWs from Libya
I'm not the typical person who is up-to-date with current events. I'm usually the type who just takes cover in her own world. I think I have too many problems of my own in terms of work and family. Today though, I took some time to get updated with Japan and Libya and stuff. So here I am.
Let's start out with the OFWs from Libya. It's been terrible there, and they're limiting currency that can be brought back? That's quite unfair. But anyway here's a nice incentive break from Pag-Ibig. Read this from Inquirer
Under the special assistance program, Berberabe said Pag-Ibig members who fled the Libyan conflict would be given the option to withdraw their contributions even prior to the maturity of their savings.
Members may also opt for a six-month moratorium on the payment of their contributions, short-term loans or housing loans, provided they are updated with their payments
No penalty and interest will be charged during the period
Members in Metro Manila may file their application at the Pag-Ibig International Operations Group located at the Justine Building in Makati. Those in provinces may file their applications with the nearest branch.
But those with outstanding loans cannot avail of the package.
OFWs who fled Libya and now in the Philippines may now claim their P10,000 financial assistance from the nearest Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) regional office, the labor department
“I advise the OFW-repatriate to immediately file their claim,” said Labor Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz in a statement, adding that the processing of claims will be on a first come, first served basis.
She added that OFWs in the provinces should immediately contact the OWWA regional offices for assistance in preparing the documents needed for the release of the P10,000 financial assistance.
So far, 7,549 OFWs from Libya have already claimed the P10,000 cash assistance, OWWA said Friday.
This brings to P75.49 million the total cash assistance provided by OWWA so far, the agency said in a statement.
These days at least one in ten people have relatives that are overseas Filipinos. I do too, so if you know somebody who should be getting the break above. Please let them know. You'd do them a big favor.
