Going Bananas Becomes Banana Split: Old Time Comedians Traded In For Sexy All-female-gag Show

Have you heard of the newest gag show to launch on ABS-CBN? It's going to be entitled "Banana Split" in honor of the very old very popular comedy series "Going Bananas."

The popular sitcom in the 90’s starred Edgar Mortiz, Johnny Delgado, Al Tantay, Christopher de Leon, and the late Jay Ilagan. That was a very old series that had an all male cast and it was ridiculously funny.

This time though ABS-CBN is trading in those funny oldies for an all-female gag show. This show will be headlined by lead stars
  • Anne Curtis
  • Kristine Hermosa
  • Angelica Panganiban
  • Cristine Reyes
  • Bangs Garcia
  • Roxanne Guinoo
  • Valerie Concepcion
Just for the fun of it look at Angelica Panganiban and Anne Curtis they have practically the same pose. tsk tsk... lacking originality photographers these days....

Fellow gorgeous and talented celebrities who will also be joining the Banana Split crew (the younger group)
  • RR Enriquez
  • KoolChx
  • Princess Ryan
  • Dianne Medina
  • AJ Perez
  • Lauren Young
  • Riza Santos.

To complement them will be guest hunks like Zanjoe Marudo, Diether Ocampo, John Lloyd Cruz and Jake Cuenca. That should be a nice combination, hope it won't get to rowdy (sexual rowdy I mean)

I think ABS-CBN is trying to echo the "Bubble Gang" theme of GMA - which was I admit very good with Ara Mina and Maureen Larazabal with the big boobs, also there was one with Ruffa Mae Quinto - not sure if it was the same show though but that was pretty hilarious too. I used to watch that series when I still had a life of my own

Anyway, I wouldn't know if those girls from ABS-CBN will be funny enough to take on "Bubble Gang" or do justice to "Going Bananas" but if they're going to show some skin, then I think it might be worth watching for a bit.

Would be worth it to see Kristine Hermosa again, she looks old compared to her younger and yummier counterparts but she's still not bad looking. This is from one of her pictures on Uno magazine (August 2008)

Bb. Pilipinas Airhead Janina San Miguel Drops Out Of Miss World

Bb. Pilipinas candidate to Miss World, Janina San Miguel dropped out of the race. Not to say the least I am disappointed that first of all she quit.

I admit I do think she is an airhead just based on the Bb. Pilipinas pageant where she won. That was rather embarrassing and also dubious. Would you believe during the contest, Janina San Miguel said on national television:

"Well, my family’s role for me is so important b’coz there was the wa- they’re, they was the one who’s… very… Hahahaha… Oh I’m so sorry, Ahhmm… My pamily… My family… Oh my god… I’m… Ok, I’m so sorry… I… I told you that I’m so confident… Eto, Ahhmm, Wait… Hahahaha, Ahmmm, Sorry guys because this was really my first pageant ever b’coz I’m only 17 years old and ahahaha I, I did not expect that I came from, I came from one of the tough 10. Hmmm, so… but I said dot my family is the most important persons in my life. Thank you."
I would have preferred being swallowed up by the stage at that very moment and I was just watching her. Here's the old post from Brittney-spares.blogspot.com entitled "One Of The Dumbest Answers To A Pageant Question and Answer Portion (Bb. Pilipinas 2008)"

Janina San Miguel is nevertheless very attractive which is my guess for why she won that pageant. I didn't seem fair, that's true - it made me question the way these beauty contestants are judged. These girls after all represent the Philippines, we would like them to have at least some brains and some eloquence if they are to represent the country. The Philippines already has a bad rep as it is, at the very least we should make it a point to send the best.

But given that the world is full of second chances, I was sort of "well okay" she can learn from that mistake anyway. She's young and she might still win and get the hang of it. But now she quits! Now that is just an even bigger disappointment.

Apparently her grandfather died or some such excuse made her quit. "The untimely demise of her grandfather, among other personal reasons, has caused her undue stress, thus hindering her from fulfilling her duties for the said title," the BPCI said in a statement.

I don't buy it though, there are speculations that San Miguel did not resign but was forced to do so due to her lack of abilities in representing the country. If that's the case then I'm quite sorry for Janina but happy that somebody finally put their foot down!

"In accordance with BPCI rules and regulations, 1st Runner-Up Danielle Castaño will replace Ms. San Miguel as the official Philippine representative to the Ms. World 2008 pageant,"according to a statement from the Bb. Pilipinas organizers.

Although there have been news that Danielle has a much better accent than Janina because she is supposedly Fil-American. One thing that leaves me in question though is that Castaño, however, sounded just a bit better than San Miguel when it comes to grammar. "I'm very proud that I was choosed (sic) by Mrs. Araneta."

Waaaah! It's a no-win situation

It's Sad That OFWs Have To Take Psycho Tests

In the interest of helping Filipino overseas workers survive abroad a new psychological test is being implemented. Unfortunately the Philippines' most in-demand commodity is its people and here we are trading with so many different countries in Asia, Europe and America where Filipinos hope for a better opportunity.

Now this is not always the case as some are abused not only physically, but emotionally. It's already very difficult as it is to be away from family and friends. To be in a foreign land where you have to serve people, more often than not you will not understand will be even more difficult for the average Juan.

ABS-CBN put together this 2-part presentation to take a look at this situation.

Kris Aquino Vs. Charlene Gonzales

In the recent gala show of Randy Ortiz, Kris Aquino apparently made a sordid remark to Charlene Gonzales saying, "Pa-star ka!" in front of so many people because Charlene Gonzales' gown did not match the set motif. Jealous much?

Gossip columns have mentioned that if there is anything Kris Aquino does not like, it is being upstaged and so explaining the incident. Kris Aquino is later confronted by Charlene Gonzales - who wouldn't want to be put down, given that she is the wife of famous actor - Aga Mulach. I know I wouldn't have. The former apologized and saidit was just a joke. That's a really bad joke if I do say so myself.

Dennis Trillo Back To Being Happila Single?

It has been formally admitted by Dennis Trillo that he and girlfriend, Cristine Reyes- the sister of Ara Mina have already broken up. Apparently this was a mutual decision to split. The typical showbiz reason of wanting to focus on their careers and B.S. like that

Anyway there was this huge b*tch fit last year between Carlene Aguilar - the mother of Dennis Trillo's child and his girlfriend (now ex-girlfriend) Cristine Reyes. It was very horrid - fighting over a guy.

I guess when relationships are handled like that, it will be a mess. He admitted that the relationship was difficult because people around them were not able to accept them as a couple. You think? It would be pretty hard for Cristine's politician father to accept him after he's had a child with another actress.

To be fair though, I think the relationship was pulling their careers down. I think this was one of the basic reasons why they broke up. They are both public figures after all and will stand media trial often by staying together. I haven't seen or heard of anything interesting from both parties since their "relationship" bloomed or rather was exposed to the public.

Guess Which Filipina-Japanese Actress Is Going Topless On FHM

Iwa Moto, the recently turned 20 sexy starlet just revealed to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) that she is indeed going to topless in her next cover for FHM, not that her first cover 2 years was any less daring. She is quite proud to be sexier than ever in this issue, noting that her 20th year makes her more "mature" so to speak.

I'm not convinced though, when you're ever so proud to take your clothes off - I'm not quite sure it is a sign of maturity. She has reportedly gone topless during the photo shoot with only a "lambat."

Iwa Moto says she will probably lose her Japanese dual citizenship as she has failed to go to Japan before her 20th birthday, not that anyone particularly cares. I for one, don't really give a sh*t. The Japanese heritage does give her that exotic appeal but other than that, it bears but trivial significance.

She is very good looking apparently she has been "surgically improved"

If that is so then good for her, she does look delicious. A little like Gretchen Baretto in this photo too.
